In the news, the Association of British Insurers commissioned research from the Fire Protection Association that concluded that fires could burn 100 degrees hotter than previously predicted, highlighting the scale of fire safety testing failures.
The Civil Liability Bill got its second reading in the House of Lords, emerging unscathed to now go to the committee stage, while campaigners called for the Office of National Statistics to collate motor insurance statistics for use in parliament. Also, an industry roundtable examined whether the proposed whiplash and discount rate reforms will be beneficial for all.
