Penny Black's insurance week

Penny has a night at the circus

Penny had a lovely day out this week, when she was whisked off to a box in the Royal Albert Hall by Groupama to watch Cirque Du Soleil's matinee performance of Totem.

Penny was in awe of the acrobats and their aerial displays, but perhaps most impressive were the five unicyclists who juggled metal bowls, tossing the receptacles with their feet - sometimes over their shoulders - and catching them on their heads
without using their hands.

Less impressive, and somewhat more dangerous, was Penny trying to recreate the act in her kitchen at home. Best stick to the day job.

Like many people, Penny doesn't pretend to know a great deal about the arguments surrounding climate change. Whether it's reached the critical point is up for debate, however, she'd probably stop short of branding the issue a "Marxist-driven philosophy" as Willis' UK and Ireland chief placement officer Paul Maynard did at a recent roundtable event.

Having said that, Penny did learn that polar bears can swim hundreds of miles in one trip, that oceans are only rising by about 2mm each year and that nobody wants to live in the Arctic anyway. Perhaps we're not all doomed after all...
