Property Claims 2013: Insurers urged to use fraud register to punish fraudulent policyholders

Property insurers must make better use of the Insurance Fraud Register and take a tougher line with policyholders who think making a bogus household claim is a victimless crime.

That was the message from panellists at Post’s Property Claims event, who discussed ways to drive down the number of fraudulent property claims, which accounted for 71 000 of 139 000 dishonest claims
