Aviva completes €130m Friends First acquisition

Aviva Ireland has completed the acquisition of life insurer Friends First for €130m (£116m) after receiving regulatory approval from the Central Bank of Ireland.

The acquisition makes Aviva one of the largest composite insurers in Ireland, with its market share in life insurance increasing to 15%, alongside its existing 15% market share in general insurance.
