‘Challenging environment' takes toll on Brit's 2015 profits

Lloyd's insurer Brit saw its post-tax profit plummet to $15.6m (£10.8m) in the 12 months ended 31 December 2015 from $229.3m in 2014.

Brit's operating profit before foreign exchange and corporate activity costs was $91.7m for the period, down from $232.8m in 2014.

Gross written premiums also dropped from $2.14bn in 2014 to $1.99bn
