Analysis: Reinsurance rates - breaking the cycle

Reinsurance rates have started to rise after a series of natural disasters in 2017 and 2018, but the increases are not being seen across the board.

After five years of falling reinsurance rates beginning in 2013, the price of reinsurance began to climb again in 2018, following the major natural catastrophes of 2017 and 2018.
