Penny Black's insurance week - 7 May 2015
Penny knows how awkward it can be to cop some flak for wearing the wrong outfit, so she has plenty of sympathy for Biba executive director Graeme Trudgill.
His boss Steve White told delegates at the recent Broker Network event in London that Graeme often has to go from one end of the country to another to make television appearances to support the insurance cause. On one such occasion, White recalled, he and Trudgill left a meeting in London at gone half past five, only for the BBC to ring and request a Biba presence on breakfast television the next morning.
However, he was in need of a tie and had to borrow one of Steve's for the early morning appearance. Unfortunately, the tie was an exact match with the presenter's outfit, and White & Co have not let himforget it ever since.
