Penny Black's Insurance Week - 28 January 2016

Penny is as much a music lover as the next person and although she, along with many of the world, mourned the recent passing of singer David Bowie and Eagles guitarist Glenn Fray, she enjoyed hearing the industry reminicise over what their music meant to them.

She was also impressed to hear that one member of the industry is so inspired by music that they have managed to include it in their working life. A little bird told Penny that the cover of the recent British Insurance Brokers’ Association manifesto #FairnessForAll was modelled on an album cover of executive director Graham Trudgill’s favourite band Simple Minds. Penny believes the silver writing on blue background is a Biba nod to the centrepiece of graphic designer Malcolm Garrett’s minimalist black and gold design, which first graced the sleeve of the album Live in the City of Light.
