Admiral sees profit hit of up to £100m from discount rate cut

The discount rate cut will add between £140m to £175m to Admiral’s claims settlement bill, the insurer said.

The decision to reduce the Ogden rate, which is used to calculate personal injury damages, from 2.5% to -0.75% will deduct profit of between £70m to £100m from the business.

Admiral said it expected
