Munich Re, Allianz and Zurich discussed the management of unstructured data in claims during Post webinar
Insurance companies are dealing with increasing volumes of digital media associated with claims initiation and claims investigation processes.
This includes a dramatic rise in unstructured content such as video and images.
Insurance Post, in association with Alfresco, hosted a live interactive webinar in which an expert panel discussed the impact this trend has had on the claims process, cycle times, productivity and revenues.
Topics covered were:
- How ready are insurers to meet the growing demand among customers to send photos or videos of claims at first notification of loss?
- How can insurers better manage the increasing quantity and variety of digital content attached to a claim?
- What can insurers do to streamline and automate the ingestion of digital content & media files?
- How can insurers reduce the manual effort required to analyse content and automate analysis?
- How can insurers improve the flow of digital content between themselves, policyholders and third parties handling claims on their behalf - to prevent repetition and improve communication?
Joining the panel to answer these questions and provide recommendations on how insurance companies can address this challenge and provide a better customer experience for policyholders were:
- Arkadiusz Baran, lead consultant, Sollers Consulting.
- Calum McPhail, head of liability claims (motor and casualty), Zurich.
- John Pyall, MGA Cockpit, Great Lakes London.
- Jeremy Trott, head of claims operations, Allianz.
